calcata

Some time ago, on a sunny lazy weekend, we jumped into our car and decided to go "somewhere". We chose Calcata, a little medieval city build on a rock, with a spectacular view over the valley of the river Treja. It is just half an hour ride from Rome, very near the Bracciano lake and the Odescalchi Castle (yes, the one when Tom Cruised married Katie Holmes). Calcata seems a set of some costume film, it's so small and so cute. If it wasn't for some tourists and lots of cats, it would seem half desert. You know, the kind of place where you think the time stopped a long time ago.

Qualche tempo fa, durante uno dei weekend di sole, siamo saliti sulla macchina e abbiamo deciso di andare "da qualche parte". Abbiamo scelto Calcata, un bellissimo borgo medievale costruito su una roccia con la vista spettacolare sulla valle di fiume Treja. E' solo un mezz'oretta di macchina da Roma, vicinissimo al lago di Bracciano e castello Odescalchi. Calcata sembra un set di film d'epoca, e così piccolina e carina, davvero una città bomboniera. Se non fosse per qualche turista e tanti tanti gatti, la città sarebbe semi deserta. Sapete, quei posti dove il tempo si è fermato.
